Why I Switched to Herbal Bath Powder — And Why You Might Want to, Too
Swetha Narayanan

Hi, I’m Swetha — a daughter of tradition, a firm believer in conscious living, and the founder of Sri Nrusimha Sudha, where we bring age-old wellness wisdom back into the hands and homes of today’s generation.

This story is deeply personal. It's about a simple yet powerful change I made in my self-care routine — one that brought me closer to my roots, healed my skin naturally, and inspired me to build something meaningful. It’s the story of how I said goodbye to chemical soaps and embraced herbal bath powders — and why it might just change your life, too.

Like many of us, I grew up watching my grandmother make Ubtan — a fragrant, earthy blend of herbs, grains, and flowers she used in place of soap. I didn’t think much of it back then. But years later, after struggling with dry skin, uneven tone, and products that promised everything but delivered little, I found myself looking back.

I remembered how soft her skin always felt. How her bath ritual wasn’t rushed — it was sacred. That memory pulled me in. And I’m so glad it did.

Why I Made the Switch

Ever since I replaced soap with our herbal bath powder, here’s what changed for me:

  • ✨ My skin feels nourished, not stripped
  • 🚫 No more post-shower dryness or tightness
  • 🧘🏽‍♀️ Bathing became a ritual of care, not just routine
  • 🌱 I cut down on plastic and chemical waste
  • ❤️ I reconnected with tradition in a way that feels deeply empowering

There’s something incredibly grounding about mixing your bath paste with your own hands, breathing in the aroma of herbs and roots, and knowing exactly what’s touching your skin.

From My Kitchen to Yours: Sri Nrusimha Sudha

What started as a personal journey quickly grew into a mission. At Sri Nrusimha Sudha, we handcraft small batches of herbal bath powder using traditional recipes passed down through generations. Our ingredients are locally sourced, sun-dried, and stone-ground — just like our grandmothers used to do it.

We believe skincare should be sacred, sustainable, and soul-nourishing. And our ubtan is just that.

Final Word

In a world obsessed with instant fixes, going back to herbal bath powder is an act of quiet rebellion — a return to wisdom, to nature, and to balance.

I created Sri Nrusimha Sudha to share that experience with others like me — people who long for something real, rooted, and beautiful.

If this resonates with you, maybe it’s time to try something old, and rediscover something timeless.

With love and light,

Swetha Narayanan
